Grilling For Fourth of July Weekend
On Friday, July 3rd, my brother David and I grilled steaks for the first time. At first, it felt a little unfamiliar, but once we got started, the process wasn’t hard at all. My stepdad, JW, helped us by turning on the grill, making sure everything was set up the right way. After that, I took on the responsibility of flipping the steaks, making sure they cooked evenly on both sides. It was a simple moment, but it meant a lot—learning something new, working together, and building confidence in the process. Sometimes, trying something for the first time can feel intimidating, but once you take that first step, it becomes easier than you think.

Today marked the day when my brother, my stepdad, and I embarked on a culinary adventure to prepare for the upcoming 4th of July weekend. Just a couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of assisting my stepdad in cooking a delightful spread of burgers, hotdogs, grilled chicken, and kielbasa sausage. Today, my brother Daniel joined us, bringing his expertise in angus beef steaks to the table. 🥩
We carefully selected packs of steaks and meticulously prepared them for grilling, all under the watchful eye of our stepdad. He generously shared his grilling knowledge, emphasizing the importance of attention and understanding in the kitchen. He cautioned us about the risks of burning food and the need to be mindful while grilling to avoid mishaps.
This simple yet heartwarming moment brought together three gentlemen from three generations, creating a sense of camaraderie and shared experiences. We feasted on our culinary creations, relishing in laughter and cherished moments together. As the sun began to set, we couldn’t help but feel the excitement of the approaching 4th of July, celebrating as if it were already the day we were meant to. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
